Well after a rough start, We have our baby girl!
Olivia was born May 22, 2008 at 5:32 pm.
Her birth story...
well I started having contractions (CTX) that morning but they were not very strong so I thought it was more false labor, I happened to need to drop some stuff of at my friend Maggies house that morning and so I was just hanging out for a bit before heading out to run some errands for the day. Maggie kept on telling me she thought that my CTX were "real" labor and that I should go in to be checked out. I kept on saying no they will just send me home and that I had things I needed to get done that day. well, Maggie ended up going with me to do all my little errands that day just to be on the safe side. Around lunch time I was still having ctx so After lunch we decided to go get checked (cause Maggie kept telling me I NEEDED to go) well Maggie is very good about these things so I listed to her. Called my hubby and he met us there. I was not hocked up for more then about 10 min when the babies heart rate dropped BAD.
She went form a hart rate in the 150's down to 80. The nurse came in and said that it was ok that it happened once but if it kept happening then things were going to be more serious. well it kept on happening and soon after I was told I needed to have an emerg. C-section. it all happened so fast! I got there and with in an hr I was in the OR and 30 min later Olivia was born!
She had the cord wrapped around her neck and leg. so she NEVER would have come out vag., she had a bowel movement before coming out and she had it ALL in her system at birth. She had it in her lungs and belly. She was born with an infection, her white blood count was very high, she was one very sick baby when she was born. She then got pneumonia from all the stuff being in her lungs.
She had some real breathing issues at first and I could not even see her for her first 16 hrs of life (daddy did though, I was to sick myself for a while). Then when I did see her I could not hold her until Sunday (three days later). The Ped. told me that it is amazing that she did so well now with how bad off she was at birth.
One week later she was home.
these past few weeks have been great I could not have asked for a sweeter baby!
we all just LOVE her!
